Harrell-Mackenzie Quarter Horses has become recognized as one of the Northwest’s leading performance Quarter Horse programs, breeding top horses for the ranch and arena competition. Their reputation has been built upon high quality broodmares and powerful stallions and a complete ranch development and training program. Headquartered in the Baker Valley ranch country of Eastern Oregon, the Harrell and Mackenzie families are cattlemen who make their living in the saddle as ranchers and USTRC and rodeo competitors and take great pride in breeding and riding good Quarter Horses.
Bob and Becky Harrell and Wannie and Beth Mackenzie staged their 10th annual production sale in conjunction with the Harrell Hereford Ranch Annul Bull Sale, Baker City, Oregon. A performance preview at Mackenzie Ranch the previous day showcased a standout offering of 2006 coming two-year gelding and broodmare quality fillies and performance prospects in basic riding, cow and rope work. Also selling were select yearling fillies and program broodmares.
These programs headline a stallion battery backed by highly proven Quarter Horse performance blood. They include Billy Red Baron (Mr. Baron Red), AQHA ’05 Reserve All-Around Performance Stallion. Payin Doc (Paid By Chic, worlds Greatest Horseman Champion, x Doc’s Serendipity), RR Frenchmans Bully, Valley Girls Barrel Racing Association enrolled son of Frenchmans Guy and Star Like Freckles and NCHA money-earning son of Grays Starlight. The Harrell-Mackenzie broodmares feature Pitzer Ranch Two-Eyed Jack, Hank Weiscamp Skipper W and Cowan Bros. Sun Frost and Driftwood bloodlines. Size, cow sense, speed, durability, and trainability are blended to produce a versatile, all-around, athletic performance horse.
